Gautam Bhandari is the Co-founder, Global Chief Investment Officer, and Managing Partner of I Squared Capital, an independent global infrastructure investment firm headquartered in Miami with over $55 billion in assets under management and 350+ professionals. The firm has invested in 100+ companies across 70+ countries across energy, utilities, transport, digital infrastructure, and environmental solutions.
Since co-founding the firm in 2012, Gautam has served on I Squared Capital’s Investment and Management Committees and chairs the boards of several portfolio companies, working closely with management teams on strategy and execution.
Previously, he spent 11 years at Morgan Stanley in New York and Asia, including as Managing Director and Head of Asia for Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, a $4 billion global infrastructure fund. He was a voting member of the fund’s Global Investment Committee and served on Review Committees overseeing investments.
He began his finance career at Morgan Stanley advising multinational clients on complex debt restructurings, debt and equity financings, and M&A transactions.
Earlier, he worked at Advanced Technology Materials Inc., a semiconductor technology company. Gautam holds an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern (Amerada Hess Merit Scholar) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Delaware (University Merit Fellow; Joel L. Silver Award for best doctoral dissertation). He is the author of academic papers and holds 20 patents in semiconductor technology.
