Yuichi (Alex) Takayama 

Country Head of Japan, Frontier Advisors

Yuichi Takayama, known as Alex in English speaking environments, is the country head of Frontier Advisors Japan GK, the Japanese subsidiary of Frontier Advisors Pty Limited. He is responsible for the development and implementation of Frontier Advisors’ Japan business as well as the investment advisory business for Japanese institutional investors. In addition to the Japan business, he is also responsible for developing the long-term strategy for Frontier Advisors’ long-term Asia business. 

Alex has over 30 years’ experience in financial services roles covering business development, portfolio management and research analysis in Japan, the US and Great Britain. Prior to joining Frontier Advisors, Alex worked for Nikko Asset Management and Tokio Marine Asset Management, where he was involved in sales of Japanese and Asian equity funds to overseas institutional investors. Prior to joining Tokio Marine Asset Management, he was in charge of foreign equity management at the former Mitsui Trust & Banking (currently Sumitomo Mitsui Trust & Banking) and Mizuho Trust & Banking.  

Alex received his MBA from the former City University Cass Business School (now University of London City College Bayes Business School) in the U.K. in 2000. He is a Certified Member of Analyst Association in Japan and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
