
We are looking for an Analyst to join the Frontier Team. The role provides an opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of business functions supporting both the technology team and consulting business. A truly exciting chance to grow and develop within a business by gaining hands on experience across a broad range of tasks. The role plays an important part in making sure investment data Frontier collects and collates is correct, complete, and updated efficiently.
This role will provide ongoing support to the broader consulting practice in performing various tasks such as collecting, analysing, and undertaking calculations with the data. It is expected over time that they would also become deeply familiar with the technology, research and consulting offerings of Frontier and provide the business with analysis and support where necessary.
Key responsibilities
- Data administration: Assisting with tasks associated with ongoing data governance including clean up, mapping, management and analysis as required.
- Platform administration: Engaging in support of internal and external platforms and processes to provide guidance and assistance to users.
- Assisting with data mapping and maintenance to ensure the data feeding into Frontier’s proprietary systems is accurate, timely and available within our agreed schedule.
- Identifying improvements to current data processes, and where appropriate, assisting with the implementation of new processes.
- Developing and maintaining an appreciation of the overall range of services provided by Frontier Advisors, and which Frontier’s staff members have expertise in various areas.
- Provide support to the research team including being an active participant in the manager research process, including the manager review and rating process, the preparation of due diligence documents such as annual reviews, MAPS and other documents.
- Contributing to assigned research papers and/or projects within agreed timeframes, with appropriate peer review and in the appropriate format.
- Specialising in the assigned project areas, the allocated areas of interest and developing new areas which have the potential to add value to Frontier.
Investment or thematic research
Actively participate in Frontier’s investment research program, broaden investment knowledge to expand intellectual capital and add value to clients’ portfolios by:
- Specialising in assigned areas, areas of interest and areas which have the potential to add value to Frontier. Areas of specialisation are used for manager and investment research and may be developed with the goal of becoming a subject matter expert to assist other Frontier staff.
- Compiling and completing investment or thematic research papers within agreed timeframes.
- Ensuring all research pieces are peer reviewed.
- As requested, working with Frontier’s practice staff to develop their research capabilities.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Finance, Commerce, Science, or Engineering undergraduate degree, with postgraduate qualifications (including progress to CFA) preferred.
- Problem solving skills and a keen attention to detail are critical.
- Strong Excel competency, including experience with formulas and pivot tables.
- Experience in roles requiring data administrative functions highly regarded, SQL experience highly regarded.
- Tech savvy with the ability to streamline processes and systems to optimise efficiency outcomes.
- Ability to work within a fast paced and unstructured environment, with a curiosity to learn processes and a desire to improve them.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and an ability to work in, and contribute to, a team environment of collaboration and transparency, by working efficiently and effectively in an environment of mutual respect.
- A willingness to take on varied diverse responsibilities to assist the team, and juggle competing priorities.
