
We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the Frontier team!
The COO will play a critical leadership role in overseeing all Investment related operational aspects of the firm. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Chief Investment Officer, the COO will ensure smooth functioning of investment operations, platform strategy, technology integration, custody, client onboarding, and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations across investment operations, custody, investment platforms, client onboarding and data reporting.
- Provide leadership in managing investment operational risk, market risk exposures, and associated control frameworks.
- Ensure appropriate risk governance is in place across trade execution, settlement, valuation, and portfolio monitoring.
- Manage the delivery, enhancement and integration of custody and investment platforms to support business growth and client outcomes.
- Partner with the CEO and CIO to align operations with business strategy, ensuring seamless execution and reporting.
- Manage third-party service providers including custodians, platform providers, administrators and technology vendors.
- Ensure full compliance with APRA, ASIC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Drive operational efficiency through system improvements, automation, and scalable processes.
- Oversee business continuity, operational risk management and service-level governance.
Knowledge, skills and experience
The following capabilities are requirements of the position:
- 10+ years’ senior leadership experience in financial services, ideally in superannuation, investment management, custody, or platform businesses.
- Deep understanding of investment operations, custody operations, investment platforms, and institutional client servicing.
- Proven experience in vendor management, operational transformation, and regulatory engagement.
- Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including APRA and ASIC.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, law, or a related field Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. MBA, CFA) highly regarded.
