
We are looking for a Principal Consultant to join our team. As a Principal Consultant, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality asset consulting services to Frontier’s clients by aiming for individual excellence and through the promotion of group excellence involving:
- Client work management and relationships, specifically those clients for whom you are directly responsible.
- Manager research and investment research.
Key responsibilities include:
Client work management and relationships
Undertake client work and build and consolidate client relationships as directed by the client team leader(s) by:
- Maintaining awareness at all times of the clients for which you are directly responsible and to which you have been allocated.
- Taking responsibility for those relationships and for guiding less experienced staff who work with you on those client teams.
- Contributing effectively to the development and maintenance of client relationships by identifying and employing strategies to secure and/or enhance such relationships.
- Showing initiative and raising issues with clients’ portfolios with the client team as you identify them.
- Providing high quality and timely advice to clients and becoming valued by the client.
- Demonstrating initiative and pro-activity towards clients and service delivery.
- Ensuring that all work is subject to Frontier’s quality assurance processes.
- Ensuring full and up to date work lists are maintained for your clients.
- Ensuring your client contracts are serviced to specification.
Manager research
Where requested, undertake manager research to maintain and improve Frontier’s knowledge and understanding of managers dealt with on behalf of clients and other relevant managers by:
- Being an active but high-level participant in the manager research process.
- Supporting other team members in their manager rating process via peer review.
Investment research
Actively participate in Frontier’s investment research program, broaden investment knowledge to expand Frontier’s intellectual capital and add value to clients’ portfolios by:
- Specialising in assigned areas, areas of interest and areas which have the potential to add value to Frontier. Areas of specialisation are used for manager and investment research and may be developed with the goal of becoming a subject matter expert to assist other Frontier staff.
- Compiling and completing investment research papers within agreed timeframes.
- Ensuring all research pieces are peer reviewed and as requested, working with Frontier practice staff to develop their research capabilities.
Business responsibilities
- Contributing to business planning and marketing.
- Contribute to the strategy and business plan of Frontier’s and assist in achieving stated commercial outcomes for the firm.
- Complying with the Frontier’s Compliance and Risk Management Manual.
- Actively assisting in the identification of new and prospective clients and promoting Frontier to such clients.
- Work on special projects that have been determined on a research or business needs basis.
Knowledge, skills and experience
The following capabilities are requirements of the position:
- Relevant advisory or consulting experience within investment consulting or a closely related field.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and an ability to work in, and contribute to, a team environment by working co-operatively and effectively in an environment of mutual respect.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels including:
- Presenting to and communicating with external clients and internal staff in a professional and confident manner.
- Giving and receiving feedback positively, constructively and consistently.
- Excellent organisation skills, an ability to work autonomously, set priorities and work to deadlines.
- Strong MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills, with a particular emphasis on strong Excel skills.
- Proven experience working in a commercially sensitive environment.
