
We are delighted to welcome Dr Gaoping Zheng, Senior Lecturer at RMIT University, as a visiting scholar during February and March 2026. Dr Zheng is a highly regarded academic in the field of finance, with research expertise focussed on household investment behaviour and the impact of modern technology on financial decision-making.
Her work examines how developments such as social media, digital platforms and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) influence retail trading, investor participation and market outcomes. Through empirical analysis, her research provides insights into how technological innovation is reshaping the way individuals access information, form beliefs and engage with financial markets.
This visit builds on our strong collaboration with RMIT, a partnership that has delivered exceptional outcomes over the years. Through internships, research projects and knowledge exchange, we have seen first-hand the benefits of connecting academic expertise with real-world investment challenges. Many talented researchers from RMIT have contributed to our work, and several have gone on to join our team in full-time roles.
Dr Zheng’s time with Frontier will include opportunities to share her research with our consultants, participate in knowledge sessions and explore how academic insights can inform practical investment strategies. This initiative reflects our commitment to innovation and thought leadership, ensuring we remain at the forefront of understanding how technology and behavioural trends shape markets.

About Dr Gaoping Zheng
Dr Zheng is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at RMIT University. Her research examines household investment behaviour and the role of modern technology in financial decision-making. She studies how social media, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence (AI) influence retail trading, investor participation, firm decisions, and market outcomes. Using empirical methods, her work shows how technological innovation is reshaping information access and market engagement among retail investors, and how firms adapt in response.
Dr Zheng has published in leading finance and accounting journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Management Accounting Research, and has secured over AUD 140,000 in competitive research funding as Chief or Co-Investigator since 2021.
