Our Director of Consulting Kim Bowater will draw a close on her 24-year career with Frontier in October. Kim will join IFM Investors in the role of Executive Director, Owner Investment Programmes.
Kim’s career at Frontier began in 2002 and has seen her progress through a range of roles before ultimately stepping into our most senior client consulting position. Over that time, she has helped expand our offering across a variety of client segments, including endowments, insurers and other liability-driven investors, not-for-profit organisations and private wealth clients, in addition to our traditional superannuation client base.
Kim’s departure comes during a period of growth and evolution for Frontier, including the development of our ICIO service and the integration of the State Super investment team. She has been heavily involved in both initiatives, helping shape a business that now spans almost 100 staff across Melbourne, Sydney and Japan. Frontier’s growth is expected to continue, with a number of new client appointments set to be announced across both our traditional consulting offering and newer service areas.
“Twenty-four years is a significant period of time in one place and while my role, along with the firm itself, has been constantly growing and evolving over that time, now feels like a stage where I can move on knowing Frontier is well placed for ongoing success across a number of areas,” said Kim.
“My time at Frontier has been very rewarding on a personal level, and I’m intensely proud of what the very capable Frontier team and I have achieved together. I leave with great fondness for a business and team that have been such a major part of my career and my life.”
During her time with Frontier, Kim worked with a number of colleagues who have subsequently become key figures in the industry including Frontier luminary Fiona Trafford-Walker. It’s not lost on Kim that her career trajectory saw her begin her time at Frontier under Trafford-Walker’s tutelage before ultimately assuming the Director of Consulting role she vacated in 2019.
Frontier CEO Andrew Polson said Kim’s contribution to our business, clients and people has been significant.
“Naturally, we are sad to see Kim leave our Leadership Team, but 24 years is an incredible commitment to Frontier and to our clients, and we are grateful for everything she has contributed during that time.
“One of the hallmarks of Frontier over many years has been our ability to identify and develop outstanding consultants. We have great depth across the business, even more so since the integration of the State Super investment team, and we’re confident the next generation of leaders will continue to make their mark, just as Kim has done.
“We thank Kim for her exceptional contribution to Frontier and wish her every success in the next stage of her career.”
Kim will finish her time at Frontier in October.
